Indoor Herbs and Greens

In the midst of the bitter cold, a new family project has emerged.  While it is too early to start garden plants for later transplanting, we can always use herbs and leafy greens on our plates.  It is always perfect conditions in an indoor dome.  The seeds were planted a couple of days ago and should be emerging in the next few weeks.  We have lettuce, parsley, basil, peas, garlic, and spinach.  A nice way to grow a little food without chemicals!  Let me know what you are growing.

Pesticide residues – Organic Vs Non-organic

Wondering if you are exposed to pesticides?  Here’s a nice news article about some new research.  Here’s the original article.  While Canada does have strict guidelines for the application of pesticides on food items, more and more individuals wish to err on the side of caution when it comes to what they put in their mouths.  Organic is good whenever you can.  You may also consider growing your own.  What about in winter months?  More to come on that.
